Frequently Asked Questions
Gas bottle/cylinder cages, mesh stillages (cage pallets), sheeted/lockable cages, high-security cages, forklift work platforms (man-up maintenance cages) and bespoke access/maintenance cages built around your equipment or process.
Where applicable, yes. We provide UKCA marking (and CE where relevant), serial numbers and SWL plates. A Declaration of Conformity is available on request for your technical file.
We design to the relevant safety expectations for non-integrated working platforms. These should only be used for exceptional, short-duration tasks following a formal risk assessment (MEWPs are generally preferred). If used, ensure compatible truck, captive heel pins/retention, anti-slip floor, toe-boards, guardrails, harness anchor points, locked mast tilt, trained personnel, and thorough examinations at intervals set by a competent person.
Product ID/serials, SWL plates and usage instructions as standard. For lifting or people-lifting equipment we can supply examination/test records as required so your competent person can plan and control lifting operations and inspections.
Store cylinders upright, secured to prevent falling; keep well-ventilated; segregate oxidisers and fuels; keep away from ignition/heat; display correct safety signage; restrict unauthorised access with lockable doors. We supply cages with ventilation, chain/strap restraints, signage plates and padlock provisions.
Yes. We recommend hot-dip galvanised steel, roof panels and floor anchor plates. Follow separation distances and local risk assessments; position away from traffic routes and ignition sources; keep access clear for emergency services.
Share footprint (e.g., UK pallet 1200×1000), fork-entry height, aisle widths, and racking/automation constraints. We’ll match feet/stack guides, fork pockets and label/scan faces so units stack safely and flow through your material-handling equipment.
Yes, when designed for stacking. Follow the stacking instructions on the ID/SWL plate (height, load limits, floor condition). Never exceed the stated limits or stack non-compatible models together.
Only if the design includes rated lifting points and the unit is supplied for lifting. Those versions are identified with SWL and lifting symbols and come with appropriate examination/test records. Standard mesh/lockable cages without lifting points must not be crane-lifted.
Options include 358 anti-climb mesh, shrouded hasps, anti-tamper hinges, multi-point locking, roof panels and floor anchors. We can specify mesh aperture, bar thickness and fixings to match your risk profile. For high-risk areas, consider CCTV coverage and controlled-key access.
Shrouded padlock hasps, euro-profile cylinders, key-alike suites, keypad or RFID readers (client-supplied hardware can be accommodated). We also offer tamper-evident seals for audit trails.
For Shop products the minimum web order is 20 units (trade only). For larger programmes or engineered designs, we quote project-by-project and align production to your rollout plan.
Powder-coat for indoor/covered areas; hot-dip galvanised for external or corrosive environments. We can combine zinc-rich primers and powder topcoats (duplex) or specify stainless components where needed.
Yes. We can engrave/emboss ID plates, add barcode/QR labels or fit RFID tags. We also supply serial registers for your asset system.
Yes. We engrave plates and can add barcode/QR/RFID tags. We can also deliver a serial register (CSV) so you can import assets into your system.
Gas and chemical cages must remain ventilated and free of ignition sources. We provide ventilated panels, signage plates and non-sparking hardware options. Always follow your COSHH/SDS guidance and site fire risk assessment.
Follow your risk assessment and manufacturer guidance. As a rule: no traveling with persons elevated unless specifically controlled and permitted; keep ground conditions level; use spotters/barriers; and never leave the platform unattended while elevated.
Treat cages as work equipment under PUWER: pre-use checks, periodic inspections, and maintenance to keep them safe. Lifting accessories/people-lifting platforms require thorough examinations at intervals defined by a competent person (commonly 6 or 12 months depending on item and scheme). Keep records by serial number.
Yes. We repair frames, replace mesh panels, doors, latches and ID plates, and respray or re-galvanise where appropriate. We stock consumables (straps, plates, labels, locks) so you can keep fleets consistent across sites.
